New Haven designated hitter Brett Jewett was instrumental in his team's 5-2 win over the Thunder Bay Corsairs. Jewett, who is tied for 7th in the UL in runs scored with 43, went 3-5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Tempest. Getting the save was Jason Balentine, his 13th. New Haven has now reeled off 11 straight wins.
Early in the game, Jewett had a 2-run home run for New Haven. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Tempest on top, 2-0.
"This team is real focused right now," said New Haven manager Brandon Eberle.
