Cheesepressers Lose to Phantoms, 7-2
|
The Erie Phantoms got a strong performance from pitcher Daniel Kallas, who stymied the Toledo offense en route to a 7-2 win at Velveeta Field. In 5 innings, Kallas surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The Phantoms raised their record to 38-27.
Matthew Laye helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to give Erie a 2-0 lead.
"This is not a one-man show," said Kallas. "A lot of the guys stepped up."
