Devil Bears Bang Out 9-5 Win Versus New Haven
|
It was a good time at Red Lobster Arena, where fans came to watch the New Haven Tempest and Bangor Devil Bears get after it.
The Bangor Devil Bears topped the New Haven Tempest, 9-5, in United League action at Red Lobster Arena. The player of the game was Bangor third baseman Rodolfo Hernandez. Zach Weiher earned the win for Bangor. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 9. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. Getting the save was Kyle MacLeod, his 1st.
Hernandez contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Bangor in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Hernandez took a fastball from Adam Anderson and stroked the home run to center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Devil Bears to leap in front, 3-2.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Hernandez.
With the win, Bangor boosts its record to 3-4.
