Tempest Come Back Late, Nip Dire Wolves
|
New Haven starter Dan Hindes pitched effectively against the Bismarck Dire Wolves at Flagship Field. The right-hander led his team to a 2-1 win. The winner was Jason Balentine in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Jason Gutierrez took the loss. The Tempest improved to a lofty 47-18.
Brian Richardson was the walk-off hero for New Haven. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Tempest catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Hindes said in his postgame press conference.
