Victory Over Knights Takes Toledo to 92-52
|
Toledo right-hander Jordan Morales pitched his team to a shutout win, 2-0, over the Havana Knights. Morales, the winner, moves to 18-3. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. Jason Hoose earned the save for Toledo, his 49th of the year.
Rich LaBelle delivered a big hit for the Cheesepressers. The veteran first baseman belted a solo home run in the top of the fifth. The longball put Toledo on top, 2-0. Overall, LaBelle went 1 for 3 with a home run.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Morales told the Toledo Daily News.
The Cheesepressers sit in first place in the United League East Division with a record of 92-52.
