Warlocks Come Back Late to Top Waterspouts

Bubba Miller had a good game, but he could not keep the Honolulu Waterspouts from falling, 11-5, to the Wichita Warlocks at Coconuts Park. The Honolulu designated hitter was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs in the loss. The winner was Wichita reliever Henry Matta, now 1-0. The loser was John Barnum. The win puts the Warlocks at 69-75, while the Waterspouts drop to 82-62.
Jeff Martinez, who won the Best Ballplayer Award in 2017, aided the Wichita cause with a 2-run double in the top of the eighth. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1-1 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I like to lead by example," said Martinez. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
