New Haven catcher Brian Richardson had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 12-11, to Toledo at Flagship Field. Richardson was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Alvin Biter sewed up the save, his 40th. The 'W' lifts Toledo's record to 93-52.

The most important at-bat for Toledo came in the top of the ninth inning, when left fielder Bobby Ware stroked a 1-2 cutter to right for a run-scoring single, putting Toledo up, 12-11.

"This was a good win for us," said Ware. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
