In a low-scoring tilt between the Reno Graybirds and the Honolulu Waterspouts, Matt Rose was the difference-maker. The Reno left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Reno is now 66-86.

Jay Williams had a big run-scoring single for the Graybirds in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Reno leading 2-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a changeup from Zhen-ying Chen and stroked the single to center. It was his 99th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Graybirds ahead, 3-0.

Honolulu manager Claribette Del Rosario said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
