Big Day by Rose Sparks Pride Win
|
The exploits of first baseman Pat Rose, who leads the UL in total bases with 320, helped the Savannah Pride defeat the New Haven Tempest, 6-2. Rose went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Andy Richardson got the win, improving to 14-9. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 4. Savannah is now 82-73, while New Haven is 101-54.
Rose had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the third inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Pride went on to win.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Rose told the Savannah Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."
