Cheesepressers Blanked by Vasquez

It wasn't easy but the Little Rock Mighty Cocks made it look that way.
Starter Eddie Vasquez shut out the Toledo Cheesepressers despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Little Rock Mighty Cocks cruised to victory, 9-0. Vasquez allowed only 1 hit and rang up 10 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
Vasquez has made 33 starts this season, posting 18 wins and 10 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .215 against him and he has 291 strikeouts in 229.1 innings with a 3.26 ERA.
