Cheesepressers Edge Knoxville in Pitching Duel
The Toledo Cheesepressers faced a tough opponent in Knoxville pitcher Noe Cardenas, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Velveeta Field by a final score of 1-0. Cardenas went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Alvin Biter picked up the save for Toledo, his 17th of the year. The Cheesepressers sit in second place in the United League East Division with a record of 40-28.

Tied up with the Running Rebels in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Cheesepressers got a boost from first baseman Rich LaBelle. With a runner on 1st, LaBelle saw a full count splitter from Noe Cardenas and hit a run-scoring double to break the stalemate and put Toledo on top, 1-0.
