Wichita starter Dennis Cook pitched effectively against the New Haven Tempest at Hartford Courant Center. The left-hander led his team to a 7-3 win. Jason Patterson, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities. Wichita is now 51-22, 7½ games up in the United League Central Division.

Isaiah Levy chipped in for Wichita, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the second inning. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with a walk.
