Division Series Goes the Distance, Saskatoon Prevails
|
Depending on your loyalties, the Division Series was either thrilling or heartbreaking.
The series went down to its final game, with the Saskatoon Platoon and the New Haven Tempest giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Platoon came out on top, winning 5-3 at Labatt Blue Field today to take the series 3-2.
"We're lucky to be going into the League Championship Series," said Saskatoon pitcher Tim Penton. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason."
Penton earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .429 average, with 3 home runs, 9 RBI and 4 runs scored.
The Saskatoon Platoon will play against the Wichita Warlocks in the next round. Wichita won their series against the Kalamazoo Hullabaloo 3 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
