The Reno Graybirds faced a tough opponent in Honolulu pitcher Nazir Bruton, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Harris Interactive Arena by a final score of 5-4. Bruton went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Reno, now 6-3, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Reno won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Lorenzo Sierra on the mound for Honolulu, catcher Nate Parot hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Graybirds fans to their feet.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Parot told the Reno News.
