Tempest Need Extras to Top Knights
The New Haven Tempest wiggled past the Havana Knights, 4-3, at Montecristo Field. New Haven pitcher Dave Berke earned player of the game honors. New Haven reliever Victor Lomas was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Gabriel Aybar took the loss for Havana. The first-place Tempest lifted their record to 49-23.

New Haven took a 4-3 lead on Jeffrey Stuart's 14th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Stuart hit in the top of the 15th, left Havana pitcher Gabriel Aybar shaking his head.

"Dave is tough when he's hitting his spots," said New Haven manager Brandon Eberle.
