Waterspouts Prevail, 4-2, Over Saskatoon
|
Honolulu rode a good effort from starter Jake Doak to beat the Saskatoon Platoon at Coconuts Park. The final score was 4-2. Honolulu reliever Israel Garcia picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Chris Perron shouldered the loss. Honolulu, now 6-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Had Bubba Miller not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Miller hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Waterspouts.
Miller called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
