New Haven Breaks Through for First Win in World Series; Now Trails 2-1
The New Haven Tempest have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Anchorage Ice Sox, winning 10-5 at Cabela's Park today. Tempest first baseman Zhong-qi Huang was named player of the game after he was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. The win cuts the deficit facing the Tempest to 2-1 in the best-of-7 World Series.

Had Nick Bowen not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Bowen hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Tempest.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Huang.

Game 4 is scheduled for Thursday, October 25th, 2018 at Cabela's Park. Slated to start are Steve Rhodes for the Tempest and Ralph Hazell for the Ice Sox.
