Tempest Beat Ice Sox in World Series
The New Haven Tempest ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Anchorage Ice Sox 6-4 to win the World Series.

New Haven won the series 4-3, capturing the title for the 1st time.

"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said New Haven manager Brandon Eberle. "It's a great feeling."

The champs finished the regular season 111-51 and claimed first place in the United League Atlantic Division.

In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and third baseman Caleb Zimmer said the Tempest have "great fans and they deserve this."

"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
