Party Burros Jolt Tempest with Late Rally

New Haven got a terrific game from shortstop Ben Dimitri. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Baja, 4-3. Dimitri was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 4-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Baja starter Jonathan Bailey was credited with the win after throwing 104 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 11-3. Logan Cobb recorded the save for Baja, his 6th of the season.
Baja third baseman Tim Johnson changed the complexion of the game in the top of the eighth inning. That's when he belted a 2-run home run off Mike Kemp. His 15th home run of the season put Baja in front, 4-3.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Johnson. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
The Party Burros, at 44-32, lead by one game in their division.
