Home Field Advantage: Miller, New Haven Open Division Series with Win
|
The New Haven Tempest started the Division Series in style today, downing the visiting Savannah Pride at Flagship Field by a score of 6-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Tempest center fielder Sean Miller was named player of the game after he went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
Chris Sullivan aided the New Haven cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder was 1-4.
"We're one game closer to our goal," New Haven manager Brandon Eberle said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."
The next game is scheduled for Monday, October 10th, 2022 at Flagship Field. The scheduled starters for the game are David Griffin for Savannah and Dan Hindes for New Haven.
