Idahosies Get Past Tempest 6-3 to Open Wildcard Series
|
The Boise Idahosies faced a tough opponent in New Haven Tempest left fielder Chris Phillips, but did just enough to pull out a win in Game 1 of the Wildcard Series, which they now lead 1-0. The Idahosies won 6-3 at Flagship Field, despite the efforts of Phillips, who went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and was named player of the game.
Mike Flood helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to give Boise a 2-0 lead.
"I had a good game," said Flood. "Winning makes it even better."
Game 2 is set to be played on Friday, October 4th, 2024 at Flagship Field. Slated to start are Mario Puente for the Idahosies and Pat Downie for the Tempest.
