Mighty Cocks Win at Honolulu, 6-4
|
Little Rock center fielder Mark Eidem made his presence felt in the 6-4 Mighty Cocks triumph over the Honolulu Waterspouts. Eidem was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Justin Monk, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Waterspouts to 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 3. Jason Taylor was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 10 save opportunities.
Bryant Ravenel aided the Little Rock cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. For the game, the third baseman went 1-4. He drove in 2 runs.
"It was a solid team effort," said Eidem after the game.
Their 29-48 record puts the Mighty Cocks last in the United League East Division.
