New Haven Win Evens Series at 1
|
The New Haven Tempest defeated the Toledo Cheesepressers, 5-2 in Game 2 of the Division Series today. Earning player of the game honors was starter Dave Berke, who threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. The win moves New Haven into a 1-1 tie with Toledo in the series.
Louis Hendrickx aided the New Haven cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the right fielder was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Berke.
The next game is scheduled for Thursday, October 15th, 2026 at Flagship Field. Slated to start are Michael Ponce for the Cheesepressers and Mike Benjamin for the Tempest.
