Honolulu Takes Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
|
The Honolulu Waterspouts faced a challenging opponent in Des Moines Pharaohs left-hander Nate Taylor, but did just enough to squeak out a 2-1 win in Game 2 of the Division Series today. Honolulu now leads 2-0 in the best-of-5 series. The Waterspouts won despite the Pharaohs getting an excellent start from starter Taylor, who allowed 1 earned run at scattered 5 hits over 7 innings.
It could have been a different outcome for Honolulu, had it not been for Ross Callaway, the 26-year old shortstop . Callaway contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to put Honolulu up, 2-1.
Callaway attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The next game is scheduled for Thursday, October 15th, 2026 at Tractor Supply Company Park. Slated to start are John Barnhill for Honolulu and Humberto Villanueva for Des Moines.
