Quinn Handcuffs Waterspouts, Tempest Seize 2-0 Advantage in League Championship Series
|
With starter John Quinn leading the charge, the New Haven Tempest defeated the Honolulu Waterspouts, 3-2, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. The left-hander threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball at Coconuts Park to help New Haven take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Brett Jewett, who is rated as the 29th best prospect by BNN, aided the New Haven cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 4 with a double.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Tempest," said Jewett.
The next game is scheduled for Friday, October 23rd, 2026 at Flagship Field. Slated to start are Jake Doak for the Waterspouts and Keegan Kroll for the Tempest.
