Tempest Win Again, Extend Series Lead to 3-0
|
The New Haven Tempest moved to within one game of the World Series today, downing the visiting Honolulu Waterspouts at Flagship Field by a score of 5-2. Tempest right-hander Dave Berke was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Tempest a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
Louis Hendrickx aided the New Haven cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"I thought we played a nice game," Hendrickx told the New Haven Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Game 4 is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th, 2026 at Flagship Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Andy Rodriguez for the Waterspouts and Keegan Kroll for the Tempest.
