Bulldogs Even With Tempest After Home Win
|
In a crucial game, the Topeka Bulldogs put on their best show, beating the New Haven Tempest by a final score of 4-3 today. Louis Hendrickx earned player of the game honors, as he went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Topeka and New Haven are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.
Jake Hathaway was the walk-off hero for Topeka. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bulldogs pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Hathaway said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."
The next game is set to be played on Saturday, October 31st, 2026 at Flagship Field. Slated to start are Marcus Barr for Topeka and Mike Benjamin for New Haven.
