The New Haven Tempest moved to within one game of the World Series today, downing the Toledo Cheesepressers on the road at Velveeta Field by a score of 2-1. Tempest left-hander John Quinn was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Tempest a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Quinn allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 8 innings for the Tempest. He walked 0 and struck out 11.

"Both teams played hard," said New Haven manager Brandon Eberle.

The next game is scheduled for Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at Flagship Field. Slated to start are Michael Ponce for Toledo and Dan Hindes for New Haven.
