Miller Helps Tucson Cruise to 11-1 Win
|
The Tucson Fighting Beetles defeated the New Haven Tempest, 11-1, at Hartford Courant Center today. Leading the charge for Tucson was third baseman Jeff Miller. He went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Tucson is now 40-38. New Haven is 52-28.
David Coen chipped in for Tucson, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the second inning. For the game, the first baseman was 2 for 6 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Brandon Eberle.
