Irie Hits 2 home runs in Cheesepressers Win
The Toledo Cheesepressers topped the Topeka Bulldogs, 8-4, with youngster Tatsumi Irie playing a key role. Irie was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Cheesepressers in the win. Michael Ponce got the win, improving to 6-6. He held the Bulldogs to 4 earned runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 0. With the win, the Cheesepressers improved to 46-34.

Irie contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one of the critical at-bats that helped Toledo get the win.

In postgame comments to the Toledo Observer, Irie said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
