Waterspouts Lose to Graybirds, 5-2
|
The Reno Graybirds trumped the Honolulu Waterspouts, 5-2, at Harris Interactive Arena. Reno catcher Antonio Bastidas was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Reno reliever Tom Roberts got the win, raising his record to 5-0. C.J. Seefeld was tagged with the loss. Chris Matula got the save, his 2nd in 3 chances.
Bastidas had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count circle change from C.J. Seefeld, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Graybirds a 4-2 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Bastidas.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Bastidas.
Reno is now 34-50, Honolulu 38-46.
