Velveeta Field was the site of a competitive game between the Toledo Cheesepressers and Knoxville Running Rebels.
In a low-scoring clash between Knoxville and Toledo, pitcher Jeff Bailey was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Knoxville in the 3-2 win. Jason Spronk earned the save, his 19th.
Tony Jimenez delivered a big hit for the Running Rebels. The veteran third baseman belted a solo home run in the top of the eighth. The longball put Knoxville on top, 3-0. Overall, Jimenez went 1 for 3 with a home run.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Bailey told the Knoxville Chronicle. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
At 46-39, the Running Rebels find themselves in third place in the United League East Division.
