Victory Over Hullabaloo Takes New Haven to 57-29
|
The first-place New Haven Tempest picked up another win at Hartford Courant Center.
Kalamazoo designated hitter Jared Cartwright was sensational. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. New Haven beat the Hullabaloo, 12-6. Cartwright was named the player of the game despite the loss. New Haven reliever Tanner Zaretsky picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Peter Adler shouldered the loss.
In the bottom of the first, Marcus Butts hit a bases-clearing triple for New Haven. The 1st triple of the season for the New Haven second baseman put the Tempest on top, 3-1.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Butts.
Kalamazoo has now lost 4 straight.
