Corsairs Stymie Honolulu, Take 9-1 Win

The first-place Thunder Bay Corsairs picked up another win at Dr. Thunderdome.
The Thunder Bay Corsairs stopped the Honolulu Waterspouts, 9-1, at Dr. Thunderdome. The Corsairs got a big game from Amari Figaro, who went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Thunder Bay starter Jim Carter was credited with the win after throwing 112 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 7-8.
The Corsairs got a big at-bat from right fielder Joel Whaley. For the game, Whaley went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Thunder Bay a 4-1 lead.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Thunder Bay manager Jeremy Morris.
Thunder Bay has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
