Cheesepressers Bang Out 7-5 Win Versus Little Rock
|
Toledo and Little Rock duked it out at Durex Field and the Cheesepressers came out victorious.
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from John Roberts, the Toledo Cheesepressers defeated the Little Rock Mighty Cocks, 7-5. Roberts hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Cheesepressers. Toledo reliever Matt Gault picked up the win to move to 1-0. Jamar Roy suffered the loss. Alvin Biter was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 24 save opportunities.
Roberts had a key at-bat for Toledo early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 25th home run of the season and gave Toledo an early 2-0 lead.
"I like to lead by example," said Roberts. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
Toledo has now won 4 straight, while the Mighty Cocks have lost 3 in a row.
