Victory Over Idahosies Takes New Haven to 59-32
New Haven pitcher Wally Woolsey did his part in helping his team beat the Boise Idahosies, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 7 innings, Woolsey surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Jason Balentine converted his 22nd save in 23 tries.

The Tempest beat the Idahosies in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Brian Richardson produced in the top of the first. Batting against Boise pitcher Prokop Matejka, Richardson gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run double.

"I liked his command," said New Haven manager Brandon Eberle. "Wally was throwing strikes."

The first-place Tempest, at 59-32, now lead their division by 9½ games.
