Devil Bears Turn Back Tempest, 6-5
The Bangor Devil Bears beat the New Haven Tempest, 6-5, at Hartford Courant Center. Bangor catcher Ryan Norwood earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to Bobby Trevino in relief. His record improves to 3-8. Justin Ross took the loss. Josh Fowler got the save, his 11th in 12 chances.

In the top of the 7th, shortstop Justin Washington gave Bangor the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The Devil Bears had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out home run off New Haven pitcher Justin Ross changed that -- and Bangor went on to win.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Washington.

Even with the win, the Devil Bears have a dismal 25-68 record.
