Big Day by Kilkenny Ignites Cheesepressers Win
|
The Toledo Cheesepressers beat the Kalamazoo Hullabaloo, 6-5 at The Zoo, in part due to third baseman Jon Kilkenny, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Cheesepressers bumped their record to 58-35 with this latest triumph.
Kilkenny had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 slider from Lemsik Bejanian, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Cheesepressers a 6-5 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Kilkenny.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Kilkenny.
