Hot Start Continues for Cheesepressers
|
The Toledo Cheesepressers topped the Wichita Warlocks by the score of 5-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Tatsumi Irie. Irie was 3-5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Cheesepressers on the day. Travis Storm got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 5 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. The hot start continues for the defending champion Cheesepressers, who took their 7th win in 10 games this year.
The Cheesepressers got a big at-bat from left fielder Bobby Ware. For the game, Ware went 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Toledo a 3-1 lead.
