Devil Bears Walk It Off for 38th Win of Season
|
The Honolulu Waterspouts got a superb performance from pitcher John Barnhill. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Bangor. The Devil Bears won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Barnhill was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Bangor reliever Kyle MacLeod picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. Ryan Ball took the loss. The last-place Devil Bears have won 5 straight.
Sergio Fuentes was the walk-off hero for Bangor. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Devil Bears shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"This place was rockin'," said Fuentes.
