Victory Over Fighting Beetles Takes Toledo to 61-35
|
Toledo Cheesepressers starter Travis Storm was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Tucson Fighting Beetles, 5-2. Toledo has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
The Cheesepressers got a big at-bat from center fielder Tatsumi Irie. For the game, Irie was 1-4 with a double, while scoring 2 times. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 21st double of the season gave Toledo a 3-2 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Storm, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
