Graybirds Win at New Haven, 6-2

The exploits of first baseman Greg DeFrancesco helped the Reno Graybirds defeat the New Haven Tempest, 6-2. DeFrancesco was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Matt Rose picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 9-6. The Graybirds sit in last place in the United League West Division with a record of 41-56.
Kyotaka Shimizu, who is rated as the 69th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Reno cause in the top of the third inning with a 2-run triple. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 5 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs.
