Knoxville Wins, Huyck scores 3 runs
|
With center fielder Craig Huyck leading the charge, the Knoxville Running Rebels defeated the Kalamazoo Hullabaloo, 6-1, at Smith and Wesson Field. Huyck, the six overall pick in the 2019 draft, was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The Running Rebels sit in third place in the United League East Division with a record of 55-43.
Knoxville took a 5-0 lead on Huyck's 9th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Steve Wood in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Knoxville to the win.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Huyck.
