The Havana Knights defeated the Honolulu Waterspouts, 6-4. Earning player of the game honors was catcher Russell Townend, who went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Havana starter John Gomez was credited with the win after throwing 89 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Earning his 22nd save for Havana was Jason Slater.
Townend had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Knights went on to win.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Townend told the Havana Chronicle.
Honolulu has now lost 4 straight.
