The Toledo Cheesepressers and Corpus Christi Kingfishers played an exciting game at Velveeta Field.

The Toledo Cheesepressers did just enough to sneak past the Corpus Christi Kingfishers, 3-2, at Velveeta Field. Toledo pitcher Lance McFarlen earned player of the game honors. McFarlen picked up the win for Toledo, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. The save went to Robby Cappel, his 1st this season.

Steve Gambino aided the Toledo cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder went 1-3.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," McFarlen said.

The Cheesepressers, now 2-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.
