Victory Pushes Cheesepressers Record to 58-43
|
Toledo and Des Moines duked it out at Tractor Supply Company Park and the Cheesepressers came out victorious.
The Toledo Cheesepressers defeated the Des Moines Pharaohs, 8-5, at Tractor Supply Company Park. Toledo third baseman Jon Kilkenny was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The win was credited to Jim Samis in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jamie Gamble took the loss. Alvin Biter converted his 25th save in 27 tries.
Kilkenny had a key at-bat for Toledo early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and gave Toledo an early 4-0 lead.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Kilkenny told the Toledo Observer.
Des Moines has now lost 4 consecutive games.
