Hot Start Continues for Cheesepressers
|
The Corpus Christi Kingfishers got a sterling performance from shortstop Michael Domingue, but the Cheesepressers still prevailed, 5-4. Domingue was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He belted 2 home runs. Robby Cappel picked up the save for Toledo, his 6th of the year. The Cheesepressers, now 10-1, have hit the ground running this season.
It could have been a different outcome for Toledo, had it not been for Russ Cleaver, the 28-year old second baseman . Cleaver contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Toledo up, 1-0.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said Cleaver after the game.
