Victory Over Waterspouts Takes New Haven to 67-40
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the New Haven Tempest got the win.
New Haven Tempest starter John Quinn was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Honolulu Waterspouts, 3-2. Quinn went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 8. His record improves to 16-3.
Early in the game, second baseman Marcus Butts had a 2-run double for New Haven. It was his 31st double of the season and put the Tempest on top, 2-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Butts told the New Haven Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
New Haven, at 67-40, occupies first place in the United League East Division.
