Waterspouts Lose Again, 6-5, to Cheesepressers
|
John Roberts left his imprint on the 6-5 Toledo win against the Honolulu Waterspouts. Roberts, who is a two-time All-Star, was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs. Reliever Jim Samis picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Ryan Grosso took the loss. Alvin Biter got the save, his 26th in 28 chances.
The Cheesepressers got a big at-bat from first baseman Rich LaBelle. For the game, LaBelle went 1-3. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 105th hit of the season gave Toledo a 6-5 lead.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said LaBelle. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
Honolulu's current losing streak is now 8 games.
