Waterspouts Stumble, Lose to Cheesepressers
|
The Honolulu Waterspouts and Toledo Cheesepressers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Coconuts Park.
The Toledo Cheesepressers defeated the Honolulu Waterspouts, 9-3, in United League action at Coconuts Park. Bobby Ware received player of the game honors. The 7-year veteran was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Alonzo Galindo picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-4. He struck out 3 in 7.2 innings.
Ware came through with some timely hitting for Toledo. With the score 3-0 in the top of the third and two down, Ware hit a first pitch fastball for a grand slam home run. His 22nd home run of the season made it 7-0, Toledo.
"We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup," said Toledo skipper Matt Perrone.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Cheesepressers.
